Two-step Verification

Below terms of service apply to ATHN’s two-step verification security code alert service.

  • This service is part of ATHN’s Two-step verification or dual-factor authentication security program. The program is a security process in which user provides two different authentications to verify themselves. To access ATHN systems on a device, users must choose to receive 6-digit security code via recommended authenticator app, or SMS text message to a registered phone number or voice call to a registered phone number.
  • When users choose to receive a security code via SMS text or voice call, they will receive a single text message containing a six-digit code that is needed to complete the two-step verification. Users will receive this message every time they sign in with two-step verification via SMS or voice call. By consenting to receive security codes through SMS or voice call, users certify that the phone number provided is a correct phone number.
  • Users may opt-out of receiving two-step verification code via SMS text by responding ‘cancel’ or ‘end’ or ‘quit’ or ‘stop’ or ‘stopall’ or ‘unsubscribe’ as a response option.
  • If users have opted out to receive two-step verification code via SMS text and then need to subscribe, they will need to text ‘start’ or ‘unstop’ or ‘yes' to the phone number inquiry.
  • Users may opt-out to receive two-step verification code via voice call at any time by sign-in in to ATHN systems navigate to the user profile and clicking on Two-step verification reset.
  • If users are experiencing issues, help is available at ATHN Support support@athn.org.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • As always, text message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to users from ATHN. Users will receive one message from ATHN per authentication attempt. If users have any questions about their text or data plan, it is best for them to contact their wireless provider.
  • If users have any questions regarding privacy and how we handle your personal information, please see ATHN Privacy Policy.
